How Long is Delivery ?
We dispatch orders within 48-72 hours of receiving payment, except when payment is made by cheque. Most Customers enjoy next day delivery, dependant on what time the Order is placed. Please see our Delivery and Costs page for full details.

Can I pay using Personal Cheque or Postal Order ?
Certainly. When you go through checkout you'll be instructed about how to do this. Postal Orders are treated as immediate payment, whereas cheques require 7 working days to clear before we can send your childrens clothes to you. We will hold items for 7 days after the order has been placed, if you've advised us you wish to pay by cheque or postal order. If we do not receive payment within this time the garment(s) will be re-listed on the website. Many of our childrens clothes are very popular so it is only fair to give others a chance to buy items if we do not receive payment in time. Please enclose a copy of your order (sent via email) with your payment.

Do I have to open an account with you ?
You don't need an account simply to browse our selection of childrens clothes, but if you wish to purchase anything from Character Kids then we will require some basic information. We keep all of your personal details completely confidential - please see our Privacy Policy. Even if you don't purchase anything right away, why not open an account anyway ? It's easy - just follow the instructions and you will be able to receive our newsletters, detailing discounts and sales exclusive to Account holders.

Different Brand Names sometimes vary in their sizing, how will I know which size is the right one ?
We understand that this is potentially tricky when purchasing online. We endeavour to give you as much information as we can about our childrens clothing including inside leg measurements. We have also developed the P.A.G Sizing Guide which will tell you whether the garment is Petit, Average or Generous in Size. Please see our separate page detailing the P.A.G Sizing Guide.

What if I don't like the garments when I receive them or they do not fit properly ?
No problem, we do have a Returns Policy for all our children's clothes. Please refer to our Returns Policy page for more information.

I have received a garment which is faulty, what should I do ?
We would never knowingly send out a faulty garment but we are human after all and mistakes occasionally happen. In the unlikely event that your childrens clothes are faulty please email us and we will rectify this for you immediately. Please see our Returns Policy page for more information.

What does 'Ex' mean next to the name, for example, 'Ex Mothercare' ? Are they second hand ?
No, they are not second hand, or faulty garments. They are last season's stock from the Major High Street Stores, the 'Ex' is required to satisfy the Stores that items are not the current season's.

Why do you detag or cut labels in some garments ?
We are required to do this by law. It's to stop people buying children's clothes from us and then returning to the store for a full refund.

Are all your garments detagged ?
No, just the ex-chainstore garments. We source most of our clothing from manufacturers, so not all items need detagging. Each product description will state quite clearly whether the item is detagged or fully tagged.
